My biker buddy Lohit tied the knot with Jyothi in Mangalore on 28th of Sep 06. So took the oppurtunity to hit the West Coast in my Bolero after a long time. Started to Mangalore in 28/09 at 04:00 hours because I was warned that the Saklespur - Mangalore stretch was bad. What bad - there are no roads at all. Imagine me saying this despite driving a Bolero.
1st pit stop at Turtle Bay in Marwanthe. Apparently turtles come here in Dec to lay eggs
2nd pit stop at Camdolim, Goa. Was amazed by "off season" Goa.
3rd pit stop at Murudeshwar - with the tallest Shiva statue in India
Total distance covered - 1668km
